About Us
Our Story
Explorer Developmental Center (EDC) was founded in 2016 by Sabrina Avants, M.S.Ed., BCBA, and Mariam El-Kalay, M.Ed., BCBA. Our goal is to provide optimal support to children with disabilities and their families using evidence-based practices to achieve the best possible outcomes. Qualified practitioners conduct initial and ongoing family-centered assessments in order to identify a child’s unique strengths and needs and identify the most appropriate services to meet those needs. Our clinical team design and carry out individualized, comprehensive, culturally responsive, and multidisciplinary goals and treatment plans for each child and family.
Our Mission
Explorer Development Center (EDC) seeks to deliver services to individuals and families based on their needs, abilities, and resources. We strive to ensure that our services are timely, appropriate, respectful, and sensitive to age, culture, language, and physical ability of individuals.
